OUR FABULOUS FOUNDERS
Dr. Krista Cassaza, Ph.D., RD, has 15 years of experience teaching nutrition to youth. Her doctoral research included over 250 students from schools throughout the county. The outcomes from her research were presented at the Society for Nutrition Education and American Dietetic Association and results were published in these society’s journals. Krista has been awarded two fellowships for the completion of these studies and has successfully utilized the funding to produce programs aimed at improving the dietary and physical activity patterns of adolescents in South Florida.
Lynne Kunins, Executive Director of FLIPANY, is dedicated to improving the health of today’s youth and empowering families to make healthy choices. As a certified Low Ropes Facilitator, her time is spent with groups of all ages facilitating cooperative games and team building initiatives reinforcing the importance of good nutrition and daily physical activity. Lynne’s enthusiasm and dedication are obvious, as she trains staff, meets with community leaders, and promotes healthy lifestyles.

Edlyn Griffith is the operations manager at FLIPANY. Before joining FLIPANY she spent her time managing fundraising programs for various nonprofit organizations. Her community involvement includes a passion for working with teenagers and senior citizen programs. With over 10 years of experience managing nonprofit organizations, Edlyn is excited to help FLIPANY provide activities that help reinforce physical activity, provide skills that improves food choices, and administer affordable nutrition education to individuals which help create healthier lifestyles.
Tamika Handfield received her Masters in Dietetics & Nutrition from Florida
International University and has joined the FLIPANY team as a
Dietiatian/Nutritionist. Prior to this, Tamika was an elementary school teacher
for six years (6) indicating her love, interest, enthusiam and passion for the
field of education. Because of Tamika's teacher experience, she has become very
interested in the epidemic of childhood obesity and has conducted her Masters'
Research in this area. Therefore, she is extremely elated to be with FLIPANY an
organization that is dedicated to eradicating childhood obesity in the
community. Tamika has also spent many years working in the community with youth groups and volunteering with her local church.
Casey R. Angel, received his degree in Psychology from the University of Mary Washington. Over the past several years, he has designed Media Strategies and Policy Development for Special Interest Groups, Politicians and Political Action Committees. Casey is FLIPANY's liaison to all Governmental Bodies, Politicians and Issue-Based Groups.
Kelli Welch, received her degree from Barry University in Human Performance and Leisure Science and is a certified physical education teacher in Broward and Miami-Dade. Her expertise in sports and recreation enhances her instruction of locomotor development and lesson planning and ensures students are on course to meet their personal wellness goals.
Robert C Hill Jr. received his degree in Psychology the University of Florida. Robert is an Americorps Member; he is dedicating one year of volunteer service to FLIPANY. His responsibilities include recruiting volunteers, securing sites for nutrition and fitness classes, attending community committee meetings and health fairs, and supporting FLIPANY staff initiatives.
Savannah Steele received her degree in Studio Art at Carleton College in Northfield, MN. As an AmeriCorps Member she is dedicating one year of volunteer service to FLIPANY. Her responsibilities include coordinating Operation Frontline courses, recruiting volunteers, attending community committee meetings and health fairs, and supporting FLIPANY staff initiatives.
